Press Conference
One player holds a press conference knowing only that something has just happened. Through the journalists' questions they must figure out what that something was - and commit to it.
About
Press Conference is a brilliant guessing game in reverse: the player in the hot seat does not know their secret, and the audience does. Every question from the 'journalists' contains a clue. The player must synthesise those clues in real time, committing to each new piece of information while staying in character as a confident authority figure who definitely knows what happened.
How to Play
- 1
The audience secretly decides on an event that has just occurred (e.g. a world record broken, a diplomatic incident, a strange discovery).
- 2
One player leaves the room or covers their ears while the audience decides.
- 3
The player returns and opens a press conference as the public figure most associated with the event.
- 4
The other players act as journalists asking questions that contain increasing clues about the secret event.
- 5
The player in the hot seat must piece together what happened through the questions and commit to it confidently before the time limit.
Variations
- -Double press conference: two players simultaneously hold press conferences about different secrets, occasionally accidentally answering each other's journalists.
